TEMPO AQUA Diagnostic Catheter
TEMPO AQUA Diagnostic Catheter
The TEMPO AQUA Diagnostic Catheter is part of the long-established TEMPO family of diagnostic catheters from Cordis — now enhanced with a hydrophilic outer coating that defines the AQUA platform and delivers meaningfully improved vessel navigation for diagnostic angiographic workups.
Mechanism of Action
The hydrophilic surface of the TEMPO AQUA activates upon contact with saline or blood, reducing catheter-to-vessel wall friction by up to 90% compared to uncoated diagnostic catheters. This translates directly to smoother coronary or peripheral cannulation, reduced catheter-induced vasospasm, and enhanced torque responsiveness at the tip.
Available in 4F and 5F, the catheter’s braided shaft provides reliable 1:1 torque transmission from hub to distal tip across a range of pre-shaped curve configurations. The soft atraumatic tip minimizes intimal trauma during selective cannulation under fluoroscopic guidance.
